The Regret

The RegretWe should all start to live before we get too old. Fear is stupid. So are regrets.” This is what the most beautiful woman in the world, the absolute myth of kennedyenne America, the ultimate Star, Marylin Monroe, seems to have expressed on the right modus vivendi. How many times you fear that what you did or did not, which is even worse, was not sufficient to reach a certain result you aimed at Continua a leggere “The Regret”

Our belief against everyone

Our belief against everyoneSometimes we are persuaded of an idea, a project, a person, or rather a fact, a place, or even ..of ourselves and the outside world, or a part of it that’s particularly near us, sends to us as a response a whole negation with an attached attempt to convince us that what we think and declaim is unfounded, thus talking of our Belief – if we can call it this way also when there’s no religious dimension and it is not a grandiose matter. Gossip

Gossip. “Did you gut the pillow with a knife?’ he says. ‘Yes, Father.’ ‘And what were the results?’ ‘Feathers,’ she said. ‘Feathers?’ he repeated. ‘Feathers; everywhere, Father.’ ‘Now I want you to go back and gather up every last feather that flew out onto the wind,’ ‘Well,’ she said, ‘it can’t be done. I don’t know where they went. The wind took them all over.’ ‘And that,’ said Father O’ Rourke, ‘is gossip!“. This part of the quote is to be found in Father Flynn speech in the movie DOUBT, based on the theater play written by John Patrick Shanley Continua a leggere “Gossip”

To be blonde in a world of prejudices

To be blonde in a world of prejudices, that is to say how to face the stiff framework of blondes as brainless strumps whom, as per a famous movie, ‘men prefer but don’t marry’ and other women emulate .. at the hairdresser’s. Of course I am sensitive to the matter and, except those international cinema stars whose label of giddy sensuality has always been their hair – first of all the goddess Marylin who in fact was born brunette, there are the common people who act like a reminder, especially when, driven by affection, they use ‘blonde’ to call me as if it was my name, like a proper name. And I wish to remember the amazing BARBIE, Continua a leggere “To be blonde in a world of prejudices”

The inaffectivity

The inaffectivity: it seems a way of saying and to define someone unsentimental sounds perhaps like an insult, a characteristic, or something modern supported by the creation (sometimes the maintenance too) of new relationships online (online only), instead it’s a real pathology, unfortunately not a rare one. A pathology often suffered, more or less significantly, by those who were victims, at an early age, of extremely traumatic events, Continua a leggere “The inaffectivity”

The tragedy of family ‘slaves’

The tragedy of family ‘slaves’: those who, in life and/or in their mind, undergo their coercive parents commands without finding their own path. They are slaves of a mentality, a way of thinking, certain behavioural manners, of an ongoing judgement and a risk, looked upon it as high and unacceptable, to be one day left away from that overwhelming circle called nuclear family. These slaves, when they are 40 or more, live like children in a middle-aged body,  Continua a leggere “The tragedy of family ‘slaves’”

The equal consideration at work (and in life)

The equal consideration at work and in life, like in TOOTSIE, a masterpiece by S. Pollok, with a unique Dustin Hoffman and Oscar-winner Jessica Lange (best supporting actress). The movie was nominated for 6 Oscars back in 1983. This wonderful film, starting as a comedy and ending as a drama, tells us how the way you look, particularly if it means you are a man or a woman, weighs much more than anyone admits, also when you are looking for a job(!). The (female) Respect

The (female) Respect: Respect should really be at the basis of any relationship among individuals, instead, as proven by statistics and personal reports, it seems to be absent or violated between men and women. And let’s not believe that the emancipated, cultured, committed to her job woman, hopefully with a socially recognized career, is safe from risking to become a victim of behaviours and actions aimed at stepping on her. The (universal) Loneliness,

The (universal) Loneliness, that pushes every individual to treat it and to react to it in  completely different and unpredictable ways, which sometimes, as it often happens with reference to (others!) tragic situations, sound highly comical too. All this takes me to the hilarious play written by popular (particularly in USA) Christopher Durang, the author of Beyond Therapy, entitled ‘VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE‘. The Male Ego

Here’s the May 14/20, 2018,theme of the week:

The (male) Ego, which drives those people who are rich in it to – physical too sometimes violent – actions to win over his/her fellow men, like in the animal world, and finally win! Continua a leggere “The Male Ego”
